About Me
News about me will be updated soon...

My name is Yan Zheng. I was born in Xi'an, China, in May, 1972. I grew up on a beautiful campus of Shaanxi Teachers Univ. where my parents work. I came into the world only twenty minutes earlier than my brother. My parents gave me and my brother names Zheng & Rong, respectively. The combined meaning of these two Chinese words is out of common. They hope us to be useful people. Here, you can see my detailed archives.

EXPERIENCES & SPECIALITY

From July 1997 to date, as a research scholar of National University of Singapore, I do my research project in Kent Ridge Digital Labs (the national computer labs of Singapore). My research direction is Information Security. My project is Scash, which stands for a smart card based offline cash payment system. I implemented the protocols over the Internet using Java (JDK 1.1.5). I also improved the old protocols to make it suit for fair network delivered services. My new idea leads to a paper about fair electronic cash payment protocols, which I am writing. I have finished my thesis written in English (Scash: A Smart Card Based Offline Cash Payment System – Design and Implementation).

From 1995 to May 1997, I have participated the development of a Telephone Line Test System for HSJ-2000D Digital Programming Control Exchange. I completed all the work of adjusting and improving the hardware component, and undertook the work of software development, especially the data processing, user interface, fault diagnostic, and database management system aspects. The development environment is Visual C++(1.52) and Visual Basic (4.0).

In 1994, as the main designer and developer of the project, I took part in the development of a Digital Primary Block Multiplexing Equipment. During this period, I translated many English materials for the project into Chinese, and translated the instructions for the product from Chinese into English.

I have wide background knowledge including Automatic Control, Communication Technology, Signal Processing and Computer Technology (hardware & software) and many experiences of project development. I am familiar with Java, VC++, VB programming, SQL and database management as well as Networks and Network security technologies because I have developed some practical projects.

I also have a highly developed sense of responsibility and a real spirit of scientific inquiry.

PAPERS

Design and Realization of PCM Primary Block Multiplexing System
 (Microcomputer Development, 4/1996)
[Abstract] A method to implement PCM primary block multiplexing system which is composed of two parts: Primary Block Rate Access Termination and Basic Rate Access Termination is presented in this paper. The system can realize "0+2" digital multiplexing and "0+4" voice multiplexing by telephone line utilizing the technology of ADPCM codec U-interface and single-chip CPU control, etc. The function model diagrams and the main questions in realization are discussed.

The Design and Realization of Automatic Line Test System Software for PABX
 (Computer Engineering and Design, 2/1998)
[Abstract] An Automatic Line Test System (LTS) Software for PABX which is based on the Personal Computer and running in the Windows Environment is designed and implemented according to the National Standard. On the basis of introduction of LTS functions and hardware structure, the level and module structure of LTS software, as well as the technological problems such as communication between master-slave CPU, multi-process communication and cooperation, test data processing and fault diagnostic, multi-language programming met during the software development are discussed in detail.
